Re: UMA sneak peak!

Good stuff man. It would be nice if you could let us know when you've got an alpha version up to see the results of your hard work. There might even be some folks who would like to support the crowdfunding campaign. It's been ages since I've played anything like XCOM / Syndicate wars on the good old...

Re: Lost connections

This is the reason why we're abandoning the built-in networking and replacing it with another library. It's no guarantee that the server won't crash anymore, but at least it will show the correct server status when it happens ;)

Re: Pwn shop Npc leaves me bugged

This is a known issue in the 0.5.9 version and should be fixed with the upcoming 0.6.0 release. Some people have been able to work around this issue by using TCPOptimizer. Tweaking (lowering) the MTU setting to prevent fragmented packages is the most probable solution. At least until the next VU is ...

Re: Zajx "Ship" Exploiting

Randomizing treasure spawn locations and no more logging on the ship are planned for the next VU. The same functionality will be applicable in other (special) areas where we intend to put some treasures as well. And lower case beer is indeed a Capital offense http://illiweb.com/fa/i/smiles/drunken_s...

Treedoc - I knew who the Dev's were, via IRC not their forum accounts that have an alternate name. I never asked for money, never expected money, wanted to help and see the game improve. Open Beta: Face of Mankind - Fall of the Dominion

We've had some excellent times and inspiration in earlier open beta's from this game by Nexeon Tech and Duplex Systems.
Just received an invitation to join the Open Beta and figured I'd share it with all you rage-quitters out there ;)

Re: UMA sneak peak!

Hey thanks for the update.  In my own project I'm currently able to make adjustments to the character mesh itself but what I am struggling with is the code to access and manipulate the colors.  Our project involves creating a party of six characters so right now I can create the six custom ch...

Feel free to let us know if you're feeling bad for Cody and/or mad at us, purely based on the contents of this thread. There is IRC logging that we don't publish on purpose as we don't want any part in ruining his reputation. We granted him influence to develop his full line of equipment under his n...

I don't know what snarky means, but considering your attitude it must be something negative. Just to be clear: You don't own this game , and you're the only one complaining about a 'shitty' treatment. Waiving every attempt from players and developers sincerely trying to support you with the issues y...

Re: Blackforge Developer Diary

Alright, so let's recap this for clarity:

- There's a confirmed issue with our networking.
- TCPOptimizer is a confirmed workaround.
- You don't want to risk a workaround.

Not much for me to do except leaving it up to you ...

Re: Blackforge Developer Diary

It's looking real nice Cody, Too bad you rushed out of IRC just before Babar posted a suggestion that could potentially fix the network issues you've been experiencing. The new VU is coming along nicely, but until we are ready to release it you could try and see if TCPOptimizer can make things bette...

Re: UMA sneak peak!

Ok, so here's the whole story in short: After we made the video, a rather big chunk of code had to be rewritten because it wasn't working as supposed to. It's still evolving with every step we take towards a fully functional UMA implementation. This also means that at present we have a lot of workin...

I'm not sure where this is coming from and what it should lead to. In all honesty, logging in with your account using a third party application is something we would actually be advising against. We also like a good surprise so, if you have anything to show us, feel free to brag about it here :D

Re: UMA sneak peak!

Hey guys, this looks great. I've been working with UMA for a couple of weeks now for my own project, creating a customization process very similar to this. I would sure like to take a peak at the Unity Package you have so far for this, it might help me work the kinks out of mine. UMA is not a very ...

We're changing (expanding) the basic item attributes to be able to implement (some of) these features. This system will be ready for the next release although the content will probably arrive an update later. In the meanwhile we'll keep a close eye on this thread, good stuff!

I can assure everyone that we are not going to implement anything like the skills-list nor system that Tesla implied with his post.
We're aiming for a simple, realistic and rewarding system, carefully balanced on the scale of enjoyability... ;)
