Good news everyone,
The veil of secrecy has been lifted. We are now officially testing Ion version 0.6 out in the open now! :top
Please note that everything from 0.5.9 and 0.6.0 closed testing was discarded except for the login accounts!
A big round of applause for those who endured almost two weeks of testing behind closed doors. The first runs with more than two people will be remembered as the great ticketflood, but it provided a decent amount of experience running the new system. It was also a lot of fun to see some of the weird bugs and glitches when things got more stable. In honor of all of you enduring crashes, crawling up-hill, carrying 1kg bullets and teleporting into oblivion... This one is for you:
Now, the fact that we're testing in public doesn't mean we're done yet. Not by a long shot! Crafting and bugfixing are the main goals set for the next update(s). Stresstesting the server and networkcode is an important reason for opening up shop so we'll be logging and observing the system's innards. We're quite confident to find some people willing to help us out...
