You ended the event to early, to be precise about 8 to 9 seconds to early.
I took a HoF in @ 19:39:52, using the actual in-game time seems not more than logical and fair.

Even as i made a funny remark saying "Loot Lag" i not saw a single response on it by a GM for they could at least say, damn you was just in time or damn you wasn't.
Now i have to come to the forum to prove my point while in game they were more occupied with what other avatars thought about the final score....

One way or another, there is going to be an unhappy player left with nothing. I think in situations like this someone has got to have a final say and it should be the GM supervising the event. Event starts and finishes when GM says so, whether it's on time or not. Otherwise we could be arguing if started on time, finished on time, lasted for 100 minutes etc. Lets move on and GL next time!

Final say is not of the matter, Actus is hosting the scores, he is no god that is free of making mistakes. And maybe even gods make mistakes... But facts speak for them self.
Fact is the event was ended to early and fact is that i took a HoF well within the time.

I can't explain the time difference.

From my side it was time. I send the end notice, then it took some seconds and they your HoF message showed up.

Image

And this time the luck was not on your side.

I have check the countdown tool I use against the in-game clock and they are in sync. And I see your screenshot, but cant explain it.

Without lots of testings I can only speculate on plausible reasons. Maybe John can confirm or give any input on them.
Lag in server-client messages. Time sync on clients out of sync. Time stamp on HoF is kill time or loot time? It can even be a human error. Just to mention a few. But as we all know. In pion anything can happen.

Right or wrong, and of course it depends on what viewpoint you have, but the end note was sent and the event had ended. And after that you got the HoF. Sorry.

But even if this is a bit of a mess, and it is a mess and i agree with you on that, there is always something to take from this.
Ideas for improvements and routines changes. Anything that will push this game forward to the perfect game we all love. (and it's still a TestBuilt)

Personally i will take this with me. In future events I will always do the in-game time stamp prior the end note.
But also there will be requests for a in-game event timer that will start and stop the events with a global notice, and to take that another step, completely deal with the events and scoreboards.

Thanks for your reply Actus,

Time-stamps are still corruptible in a sense it still is a reflection of your local time settings on the system you are on.

Server time is not something we can call upon yet, only trough the actual stamp on the HoF board itself, that one is universal to everyone.

Only reviewing a HoF on the board made just before announcing the start or ending could give a honest and accurate result if it would be within or outside the time frame given on any event. 18:00:00 / 19:40:00 in case of this event.

I sure this will create more conflicts for when it's called off to late or to early in the future for the ones loosing/winning their spot with it.
Even as it happens rare it will occur and people will be confused and or disappointed.

Discussed this issue also with John and he made it clear you not just have a commentary role but are also actual event master in this event making your announcements mandatory.
That simple difference makes your call as good as the universal time stamp if everyone is aware of this fact.
